Cindy Zook

Cindy Zook is passionate about producing real results that make a difference in the world. With her vow to "never work on the margin," Cindy is attracted to high-impact work with organizations, teams, and individuals.

With over thirty years experience in organization development, Cindy has brought her energy and drive to strategic and operational planning, organizational transformations, team development, and executive and leadership development in over a hundred private and public organizations including numerous Federal Departments and Agencies. She has worked extensively with cross-cultural groups supporting clients at the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, and other global companies. Her focus on driving tangible results is her trademark. Clients and colleagues speak of Cindy's untiring dedication to her calling and her uncompromising support and challenge of everyone around her. Recently, NASA awarded Cindy the Exceptional Public Service Medal, the second highest civilian award.

Cindy began her career as an economist at the Federal Aviation Administration. Despite enjoying the intellectual rigor of systems analysis, economic trade-offs, and policy development, in 1983 Cindy chose to move into organization development following the aftermath of the FAA air traffic controllers strike. Her work at FAA was recognized with the Exceptional Service Medal, the second highest award given to Federal employees. After 18 years with FAA, Cindy resigned to become an independent consultant and President of Cindy Zook Associates.

In addition to client work, Cindy contributes her time and expertise to a number of non-profit groups in the DC area. She has supported life-long friends for over ten years at the Southeast Whitehouse, a ministry of reconciliation in one of D.C.'s most challenging neighborhoods.

Cindy received her B.A. in economics from George Mason University, earning the Weber Peterson Scholarship Award for the highest academic standing in Economics. She got her M.A. in Economics from George Washington University and did a Certificate Program in Human Resource Development. Cindy lives in Leesburg, Virginia. Her two grown children and their families live nearby.
